28 March 2014; AHBand Handover

I have to admit, time flies. Four years in band seems so long, yet it all ended so quickly. Memories of handovers, performances and farewells is still so vivid in my mind. I cannot believe four years just passed like that. My journey in band has ended. 4 months ago, we were still putting up farewell for our sec four seniors. 3 months ago, we became sec four seniors in band. 2 months ago, we were all busy preparing for concert. Now, its time for us to step down and hand the band over to the new batch of leaders. Band is not a slack cca, we all know that. The numerous hours and hard work put into practicing is not a thing that people will understand. To put up a great performance, we have to go through intensive practices for 3 to 4 days per week till about 6pm. Yes, the process is tiring, but the results are definitely satisfying.

To my batchmates: Our journey in band has ended. It's time we believe in our juniors and let them shine, just like our the seniors believed in us. Thank you for being such a significant part of my journey in AHBand. Without you people, I believe I would not be who I am today. Thank you for tolerating with my randomness and weirdness all these while. Indeed, band is not just a cca, its a big family. Now, I'm proud to say that I've forged many friendship through band! I'm glad that I joined band 4 years ago, giving me the opportunity to meet such wonderful batchmates. Thank you guys! Lets all work hard for Os together! L1R5=6, here we come!

To my section: It time for your seniors to leave, time for you people to step up. Listen well to Tate and don't forget to respect your sec threes. They may be fun and bubbly but don't cross the line. Its okay to joke and play around with them but be serious during band prac and sectionals. I'm sorry if I haven't been a good senior all these while and I'm sure Tate and Joy will do a better job than me. Oh, and please please organize a section outing during the holidays to band the section! and you can call the seniors to come too!! (hint hint) Band may seem tough and things may seem impossible at times, but don't give up! Remember what is the reason that makes you join band! Keep the passion for music burning! Jiayou for all the upcoming competitions and don't neglect your studies! I'll visit you guys if I have the time! ILOVEYOU!

140322; USS ❤

Yes, I've finally updated after such a longggg time! (oopsie! ><) Universal Studios Singapore was so funn :) Although I'm not a fan of theme parks, I really enjoyed myself with my cousins. It was fun going around to play on the rides, but not the rollercoasters!! I HATE ROLLERCOASTERS! Some people actually enjoy the speed and trill but I simply hate them! Other than the rollercoasters part, the rest was actually pretty fun! HEH ^^ I'm having a sore throat from all the screaming on the rollercoasters. I cannot. I swear I almost died on the rollercoaster! hahhaha tbh, i don't mind going back there again with my cousins! Time actually flies when we're having fun and the day at USS just felt so short! Omg food at USS is super expensive! One bottle of Heaven and Earth ice lemon tea actually cost like $4?! That's super duper ex! OMG next time when we go USS, we must stockpile food before hand and bring it in with us so we can save money on buying food in USS. I really want to thank my wonderful cousins for spending the day with me! Ohoh, and my annoying brother who accompanies me on all the rollercoaster rides! Frankly speaking, I would have already died on the rollercoasters without him! Here are just some pictures to sum up my day! ;) ps. sorry for my cui face in the pictures! ><

Happy birthday Shawn! Although I've been quite mean to you most of the times, you still can't deny the fact that we are siblings! Indeed, blood is thicker than water! :) Thank you for being by my side through the past 13 years of my life. You're certainly a joy in my life. 13 years ago, when you entered my life, you were just a baby that mum and dad introduced to me as my younger brother. I've watched you first walked, watched you first spoke, watched you grow. Unknowingly, you've became a part of my life. Yes, you can be rebellious/rude/mean at times, we can fight and quarrel over small matters at times. But you're still my brother. Thank you for being so irritating and annoying and understanding all the while. Without you, I would be alone. I would have no one to fight with, I would have no one to bicker with, I would have no one to quarrel with. Secretly, I wanted an elder brother instead. I want an elder brother who would protect me, who would stand up for me. However, I realized that a younger brother could do the same. He can still protect me and stand up for me. I guess having a namja dongseng is not bad as well. As you are still growing, please stay strong and healthy. Its time for you to stop being so childish and behaving like a child, time to grow up boy! Learn to be grateful to others for what they've done for you. Learn to respect your elders, learn to be humble. Being 13 is not easy, it's an age when you're no longer a child but you're not officially a teenager either. You're still a pre-teen. Please understand that I had a really hard time buying you a suitable birthday gift. I'm afraid that I would buy something too kiddy or something too mature. Most importantly, I've never bought anything for guys. I know this birthday post is rather late and you might not even see this. But still, happy birthday bro! I hoped you've enjoyed your gift that I bought, as well as your birthday cake and the Korean BBQ! :)

AHBand Farewell 2013; 19th November 2013

Farewell is just one of the many events that happen in AHBand. In my opinion, farewell is one of the most important and grand event of all. By tradition, AHBand farewell is always held at SIA Group Sports Club (coz Mrs. Lam is a member there xD). Sad to say, this would be the last year we will be holding our farewell there as the booking fee of SIA Group Sports Club's function room has increased. Stars and Stripes; theme of AHBand Farewell'13. Everyone came in stripes and a few in stars. Even the deco and gifts were all related to the theme. I would say, this theme is one of the hardest. There's nothing new about it. Farewell is one of our major events in AHBand family, it is also one of the most expensive events. We pay $30 per person for the food, venue, as well as the band gift, not including all the personal and section gifts we have to get for our seniors. Attending the event as a Sec One or Two would just seem like a party when you have to come dressed formally. Once you've became a Sec 3, it's different. You would be busy for the entire day. The event starts at 7pm. However, I've been in school since 9am, practicing the batch dance and doing all the last minute preparation for deco and gifts. It's a really hectic day. We would then arrive at the function room at 5pm, putting up all the deco and doing our last rehearsals. Of course, nothing beat seeing the smiles on the seniors' faces. Those smiles on their faces just tell you that all the hard work is worth it. All the nights when I have to stay up to prepare and do proposals, all the I have to do to get the gifts, all the stars that I have to fold by hand, all the days when I have to come back to school for preparation, its all worth it. Farewell is supposed to be a joyous event. As a Sec 3 this year, farewell just like a reminder for me. Reminding me that I'm only left with 3 and a half months to concert, 4 months to handover. It is really a time when I would suddenly realized how fast time had passed. Unknowingly, I've spent 3 years of my Secondary School life in AHBand. It makes me ponder. Have I cherished my time well in band? Is my time here well spent? Enough said, I shall upload some pictures that was taken in my phone! :) happy times. Gosh, I really miss my seniors.
